A health facility in Delaware is the first health system in the United States to adopt an e-ICU program to remotely monitor critically ill patients in hospitals. The facility connects to outside patients using voice, video and data lines and continuously checks for changes in a patient’s condition like blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels and respiratory rates. The system allows for nurses and doctors to connect with on-site staff to make sure the patients are effectively and efficiently receiving the proper care.
