With five weeks until the midterm elections, House Republicans are offering a sweeping agenda that proposes reining in the size of the federal government, The Washington Post reports.

Democrats are calling the Republican plan “warmed-over stew,” Politico reports. Many of the proposed reforms are already part of legislation introduced in the House, Democrats said.
