Military Sealift to get NextGen satellite infrastructure

New satellite service is coming to the Military Sealift Command. The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization has awarded a $315 million contract to Stratos Government Services of Washington, D.C. Stratos will provide Sealift with a new generation of wideband satellite infrastructure and service. That service goes into effect this month and runs through July 2019. It replaces the Afloat Bandwidth Efficient Satellite Transport, or BEST.
