Modernizing space programs while maintaining operations is one of the most challenging things, and rings true for the U.S. Space Force.
OPM’s Dan Jacobs and stackArmor’s Gaurav “GP” Pal led an ACT-IAC team to develop a maturity model to help implement authority to operate as code.
“A huge part of what we’re doing with digital transformation is leaning in on how we can drive efficiency, effectiveness,” said Krista Kinnard.
“Technology’s changed quite a bit since the 80s. In 2024, we had 32 award winners we recognized from eight federal agencies,” said Jesse Midgett.
“We want to accelerate missions, and we do so by bringing human centered design and advanced modern digital techniques to the agency,” Shawn Chittle said.
“There are cybersecurity and privacy requirements that you have to meet, and that can sometimes be an issue,” Brian Bothwell said.
Federal agencies face a formidable challenge in navigating the deluge of emerging vulnerabilities while managing the remediation of existing ones.
The military runs on software and many units have adopted the latest techniques for continuous delivery of secure code. One program supporting is Platform One.
