Congress has imposed a deadline of 2014 for DoD to get at least a portion of its financial statements in audit-ready condition. But one of the lead advocates of the audit push on Capitol Hill acknowledges Congress itself has made that task a lot harder for the Pentagon, by keeping the federal government in a near-constant state of budget turmoil.
