  • The Department of Veterans Affairs has proposed the removal of Susan Taylor for her role in fraud allegations from VA's Inspector General. She's the deputy chief procurement officer at the Veterans Health Administration and part of the procurement scandal involving the company FedBid. She's the second high-profile official to leave government under a cloud in the last week: Julia Pierson resigned as Director of the Secret Service after a scandal there about securing the safety of President Obama. Martha Johnson is the former administrator of the General Services Administration. On In Depth with Francis Rose, she shared advice for current and former employees who have to deal with the fallout of a leadership shakeup at the top of their agencies.

  • When the General Services Administration wanted to move about 60 Broadcasting Board of Governors employees from a building close by to one several blocks away, the BBG seized the opportunity. The agency countered with a plan to renovate the offices on the fourth floor of the Wilbur J. Cohen Building. Phase one of the new open-office plan is almost complete and is changing the interior look of the 76-year-old building. André Mendes is director of Global Operations at BBG. He joined Tom Temin on the Federal Drive to discuss how he settled into his new office.

  • The U.S. District Court in San Francisco indicted Jeff Neely on five counts of making false statements and submitting fraudulent documents. Two of the five counts against Neely are directly related to the Western Regions Conference disgrace.

  • The Army needs big solutions if it wants to generate as much energy as it consumes by 2020. It's using the Fort Carson Army base in Colorado Springs as a testing ground for the Net-Zero Energy Initiative. The General Services Administration identifies four ideas that could help Fort Carson reach big energy breakthroughs. It's also partnering with the Army and Energy Department to measure Fort Carson's progress so far. Ken Sandler is the sustainability and green building advisor within the Office of Federal High Performance Green Buildings at GSA.
