If you were on vacation last week you missed some big ticket news items. Senior Correspondent Mike Causey brings you up to speed.
Were you on leave last week?
Judging from the traffic last week lots of folks took advantage of the Easter-Passover-Spring break. If you did that you may have missed some interesting developments that could involve you. Here’s a recap:
Reserve/Guard Pay
The Office of Personnel Management made official a change that guarantees federal and postal workers who are activated by their National Guard/Reserve units won’t lose pay while serving their country in uniform. We tipped you to the change on March 19. Now it is chiseled in stone. For more, click here.
Leave Bonus For Executives
OPM has also extended a fast-track annual leave plan (now available to members of the SES) to top-level careerists in agencies with their own pay and pay personnel system. The break, which allows them to accumulate the maximum amount of annual leave regardless of service time, covers workers in 22 agencies. For details, and a list of who’s in, click here.
Retirees & Stimulus Payments

Wanna Go Part-Time?

Problem Employees
Is there a “problem” employee in your office? Someone who is disruptive, nonproductive or otherwise a squeaky wheel. Worse yet, are you that employee?
Either way you want to listen to our Your Turn with Mike Causey radio show tomorrow (Wednesday at 10 a.m. EDT). Bill Bransford from the Senior Executive Association talks about what managers can do, should do and should not do when dealing with workers with problems that are impacting their job.
You can listen on your computer anywhere (www.federalnewsradio.com) or in the DC area on WFED 1500 AM. If you have questions about the subject, e-mail them to me. I’ll get the answers for you during the broadcast. You can reach me at: mcausey@federalnewsradio.com
