Lawmaker introduces cyber bill to strengthen data breach laws

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) has introduced a new piece of cybersecurity legislation that would strengthen data breach laws.

Another lawmaker has joined the pack in Congress, who have introduced cybersecurity legislation.

This latest cyber bill comes from Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) It aims to strengthen data breach laws, including consumer notification requirements.

Blumenthal’s bill comes as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has been trying to consolidate Democratic efforts to draft a piece of comprehensive cybersecurity legislation.
