DoD: Improvements coming soon for health e-records

Remember the TV show MASH?

DoD has taken that concept online.

From the battlefield to Walter Reed hospital to being discharged from the military, medical records of the servicemen and women injured in Iraq or Afghanistan are on the move.

The Defense Department says its electronic health records system is making it easier to treat injured soldiers more quickly and ensure continuous care.

Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller finds out from Colonel DaCosta Barrow, program manager of the Defense Health Information Management System, about the improvements coming to the electronic health records.
