Human immune system is model in cyber defense program
Homeland Security Newswire reports that the new program by DARPA allows computers to repair themselves after an attack.
What’s the connection between the human immune system and cybersecurity?
The DoD’s research arm DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) is working on a new program that functions like the human body’s immune system does, enabling computers to recover and repair themselves after a virus attacks.
And Homeland Security Newswire reports, the program dubbed Clean-slate Design of Resilient, Adaptive, Secure Hosts or CRASH will create more genetic diversity and in the software and hardware of computers.
And that’s not the only new program DARPA is working on — PROCEED is a new program that will allow programmers to work directly with encrypted data without have to decrypt it first.
