The 229-square mile Zion National Park is located near the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin and Mojave Desert in Utah. Established as a national park on Nov. 19, 1919, Zion showcases many unique geological features, including mesas, monoliths, slot canyons and natural arches. The park had 3,648,846 visitors in 2015.
