Pam Dyson, the Securities and Exchange Commission’s CIO, joined Federal News Radio for a free online chat. Dyson discussed her priorities around moving legacy IT to the cloud, dealing with the big data challenge and addressing ongoing cybersecurity requirements.

Dyson took part in the chat after her recent appearance on Federal News Radio’s Ask the CIO.

Federal News Radio Executive Editor Jason Miller moderated the chat.

GUEST BIOGRAPHY: 

Pam Dyson has been the chief information officer of the Securities and Exchange Commission since February, and served as acting CIO since October 2014. Dyson began her SEC career as assistant director for enterprise operations. In that capacity, she managed day-to-day operations such as IT infrastructure and all enterprise operations for the SEC’s headquarters and its 11 regional offices. Before joining the SEC staff, Dyson was the deputy CIO for the International Trade Commission, where she held several positions of increasing responsibility for its information technology program.

Dyson received her B.S. from the University of Maryland in College Park.
