How will OPM & OMB actually change the hiring process?

We heard human resource managers erupt with applause when OPM Director John Berry and deputy director for management at OMB Jeffrey Zients declared a month ago that — for the first time in history — almost every federal job could be applied for with a simple resume and a cover letter.

But, of course a lot of the hiring reform they’ve set out to do is going to mean some complex changes.

Many people are still asking . . . is it even possible?
