Our topic this week is a relatively new concept for the U.S. Army: teaching soldiers, their families and Army civilians how to be resilient in the face of adversity. The Army is trying to teach those groups life skills through the Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness program. That program, as you’ll hear this hour, focuses on what the Army says are five dimensions of strength: Social, Emotional, Family, Spiritual and Physical. Our guest is Col. Kenneth Riddle, the director of the program. He spoke to us in his office in Arlington, Va.
