The average wait time for scheduling appointments at doctors’ offices is on the rise, according to a new report. But health IT can relieve administrative bottlenecks for doctors. Integrating the workflow can automate scheduling and payment processes, making offices more efficient and giving doctors access to information in real time. An automated system can also cut out the middle man and minimize hand off points, which will speed up the pre-authorization process by giving the patients payment information as it becomes available.
