Could health IT be the answer to reviving the economy? A supercomputer system at Indiana University is expected to boost the state’s economy. The technology, nicknamed “Big Red,” will break down data analysis of millions of patients and condense the information to make it readily available to medical providers. The system is believed to be the largest fully HIPAA-compliant, public searchable database of medical records in the United States. The state hopes their success story will help others to jump start their own economy.
