Hospitals and doctors are scrambling to get their hands on iPads. Doctors are using Apple’s latest gadget to view patients’ EMRs and say it could be a major game changer in the health IT world. The iPad could also potentially save big bucks for healthcare organizations. One hospital in California is replacing its Computer on Wheels for iPads for a fraction of the price. But there are some drawbacks to using iPads. Doctors equipped with iPads for home visits will be in trouble if they’re in a dead zone with no 3G network.
