August 12, 2010 — This week, Federal Security Spotlight presents highlight of a speech given by Bruce McConnell, senior advisor to the director of the National Programs and Protection Directorate of the Homeland Security Department.

He was speaking to a meeting of the Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board.

He discusses DHS’s outreach program to make average Americans more aware of the need for cybersecurity; the concept of the cyber ecosystem; and the nature of safety and security in cyberspace.
