Cyber crooks using Microsoft patch to spread malware

Naked Security reports that a fake Microsoft security upgrade is actually a virus.

Cyber crooks are up to their old tricks, spreading malware under the disguise of a critical security patch from Microsoft.

But security firm Sophos says this time around the crooks are making the the email worm more believable by quoting a senior member of Microsoft’s security team — Steve Lipner, Naked Security reports.

Microsoft says the infected emails are being sent with subject line “update your Window.”
