US-CERT chief Randy Vickers resigns. His resignation is effective immediately.

U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team Director (US-CERT) Randy Vickers has resigned, according to an internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) email obtained by Federal News Radio.
The email, from National Cybersecurity Division chief Roberta Stempfley, states that Vickers’ resignation is effective immediately.
A DHS official, who requested anonymity because the issue is a personnel matter, confirmed authenticity of the email but declined to provide a reason for the resignation.
US-CERT Deputy Director Lee Rock will serve as acting director, the email said.
“Lee has been the Deputy Director for US-CERT for over a year,” Stempfley wrote, “and we are confident that our organization will continue its strong performance under his leadership.”
US-CERT is responsible for coordinating information about cybersecurity received from the public, industry and other institutions.
