The Marines have a new leader. General James Amos has formally taken command of the military branch. He replaces General James Conway. Amos is the first naval aviator to hold the job of commandant. Stars and Stripes is reporting that that he takes leadership of a force that has roughly 20,000 Marines deployed to war in Southern Afghanistan.
