Recent retirees have been complaining that it is taking forever to get their full annuity payments — roughly 100 days.
To address the backlog in claims, on Wednesday the Office of Personnel Management announced it will increase the claims processing staff and look at ways technology can improve the process.

During a press conference on Wednesday at OPM headquarters, OPM Director John Berry and new Associate Director Bill Zielinski explained what feds who are caught in the backlog — or those who are about to retire — can do to help OPM process their claims.
