7 signs your co-worker is a potential insider threat
Is there a spy in your office? Insider Threat Defense identifies behaviors that may indicate an employee is a potential insider threat.
While data breaches by Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning may have raised awareness of the insider threat problem within the government, risk management has concerned federal managers for years.
Recently, Insider Threat Defense, a private firm that offers training in threat program development and risk mitigation, shared insights on some of the behaviors that may indicate an employee is a potential security risk.
ITD developed the list based on studies by the Defense Personnel and Security Research Center (PERSEREC) that said “one-fourth of known American spies experienced a personal life crisis (such as a divorce, death of someone close, or a love affair gone awry) in the months before they decided to attempt espionage.”
The following are some of the at-risk behaviors ITD described.
