The new administration already has a foreign policy issues to deal with: the Middle East. What will new envoy George Mitchell have to deal with? The Heritage Foundation took a look at an event called “The Obama Administration, Hamas, and the Gaza Crisis.”
Comparing Apples and Oranges
Some commentators are comparing the government entities that will buy mortgage-backed securities, or buy into the banks themselves, to the Resolution Trust Corporation that was set up during the S&L crisis. The first Chairman of the RTC, William Seidman, is now Chief Commentator for CNBC, and he told me the new structures don’t have much in common with the RTC.
