When most Americans think of disasters and response, they think of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. That agency has revamped the way it responds to disasters, and it’s using technology to continue the improvements. One area FEMA is using technology to improve its mission fulfillment is telecommunications. These upgrades are giving FEMA more – and better – tools to communicate with state and local agencies, so there are fewer surprises at the disaster scene.
