Federal Security Spotlight this week talks to Chris Johnson, a security specialist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology who oversees the NVD.

In this interview, Johnson discusses how NIST keeps the database up to date, how it determines the degree of danger in a given threat, and how it works with stakeholders to make sure the data is comparable and useful.
