Defense Secretary Robert Gates is getting push-back from Republicans on the House Armed Services committee. Chairman Buck McKeon of California asked Gates to stop plans to cancel two weapons programs. National Journal reports McKeon is concerned with the Marines’ Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle and a new Army air-to-air missile. Gates wants to kill both programs, which are late and over-budget. McKeon says Congress should get a chance to have hearings and weigh in first.
