Federal agencies in the Washington, D.C., area are open for business Friday morning, according to the Office of Personnel Management’s website. All employees should report to work on time or begin teleworking as scheduled.
“Normal operating procedures are in effect,” OPM’s website states.
Due to power outages caused by a June 29 storm that swept through the region, many federal offices in the Washington are were closed earlier this week or were open under an other than normal operating status.
Federal employees must follow the “WATS” directive in accounting for their hours, according to the website:
- Work at a worksite or office;
- Alternative work schedules (AWS), i.e, take a day of leave;
- Telework from home or a telework center;
- Scheduled leave or take other paid time off.
