The "Hurricane Hunters" fly storm missions in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans during the hurricane season June 1 to Nov. 30 yearly.
A team from the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, “Hurricane Hunters,” deploy to Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, each January to fly winter storm missions.
