At the first Wounded Warriors Family Summit yesterday, Defense Secretary Robert Gates talked about his devotion to helping wounded vets, and changing the bureaucracy at the Pentagon to get them what they need, faster.

Former HHS Secretary Donna Shalala, now President of the University of Miami and co-chair of the President’s Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded Warriors, told us she thinks there has been some progress on caring for vets since her commission made their recommendations to Congress and the President.

Who Does What, To Who, When?

The Best Course of Action

The Chairman of the Federal Reserve told a House Budget Committee hearing yesterday it may be an “appropriate” time to consider another economic stimulus package. Ben Bernanke was followed at the witness table by a panel including William Beach of the Heritage Foundation. That panel discussed the options Congress has for building such a package. Mr. Beach told me about the various options covered at the hearing.
