The stimulus plan includes a lot of money for federal agencies to expand or establish programs to boost the economy. How the Federal government will account for that money was the purpose of a hearing last week in the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

The witnesses are three of the most crucial people in the government in the areas of accountability and transparency: Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Rob Nabors; Acting Comptroller General Gene Dodaro, and Phyllis Fong, Agriculture Department Inspector General, and Chair of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency.
