The Senate is moving closer to debating a comprehensive cybersecurity bill.

The Washington Post reported last week that Majority Leader Sen. Harry Reid would bring a cyber bill to the floor before the end of next month.

The bill would address significant cyber issues, such as improving critical infrastructures and bolster interagency collaboration.

Alan Paller, the director of research at the SANS Institute, joined In Depth with Francis Rose to discuss what the bill gets right and what should go back to the drawing board.

Paller also discussed why it has taken so long for comprehensive legislation to make it to the Senate floor and how Reid and other lawmakers plan to deal with the thorny issues of regulation and privacy concerns.
