Jamie Leeds' fabled drag brunch performers and a raft of RAMMY nominees.
Saturdays can be a drag, especially when you’re coming down from a tough week – but the third Saturday of every month is now a real drag (in a good way) at Jamie Leeds’ Hank’s Pasta Place in Alexandria, when female impersonator Summer Knight and her team entertain during the restaurant’s Sparkle Saturdays Drag Brunch! Chef Jamie and Summer are in studio to tell us all about it.
Adams Morgan’s celebrated Jack Rose Dining Saloon, which boasts a consensus All-American whiskey menu, also is known for its beer line-up. Beer director Nahem Simon leads a program that is RAMMY-nominated as “Beer Program of the Year” and is in with tastes and talk of Jack Rose’s truly innovative beer offering and beer service mechanics – ya gotta listen to learn!
Also RAMMY-nominated as “Casual Restaurant of the Year” is Silver Spring’s Daily Dish. Chef and co-owner Zena Polin is in a great menu sampling, including a tomato pie that highlights the restaurant’s dedication to local, fresh and seasonal.
What, more RAMMY nominees? Yep! Margaret Perry, general manager at Tim Ma’s hungered-after Chinese-French eatery, Kyirisan in Shaw, also is up for a RAMMY as “General Manager of the Year”. She’s brought in a cross-section of the restaurant’s signature cocktails for Foodie and the Beast and the rest of the studio audience.
Listen in for a taste of great edibles and potables from across the DC area!
