Senate hears testimony on line-item veto

WFED\'s Max Cacas reports.

Earlier this week, President Obama sent to Capitol Hill a proposal that would give him the authority to veto individual provisions in an agency spending bill — a line-item veto.

Today, a Senate subcommittee heard testimony on this and other similar measures designed to let the President trim federal spending.

As Federal News Radio has been telling you, a budget show down could take place soon on Capitol Hill.

Federal News Radio’s Max Cacas has been watching this hearing and the topic of spending cuts, and joins us now with the latest.
