The massive shift of workers out of the National Security Personnel System over to the General Schedule is on track, Federal News Radio reports.

As of Thursday, three-quarters of feds under the old pay-for-performance system have successfully made the jump back to GS. That breaks down to about 165-thousand workers – out of a total of 226-thousand.

“The effort here is primarily to ensure that no employee loses, suffers any decrease or loss of pay upon transition into the General Schedule system,” John James, director of the NSPS Transition Office, said in an interview with Federal News Radio.

NSPS will officially be gone on January 1, 2012.
