Federal buildings are getting older, and repair costs for electrical and heating systems is rising. In 2007, the federal government spent 17 billion dollars on energy use in buildings and vehicles. A government auditors report looks at the backlogs at six agencies and ways to reduce energy consumption. Terry Dorn is GAO’s Director of Physical Infrastructure Issues. He’s here to tell us what this report reveals.
