IBM has protested the Veterans Affairs Department’s multi-billion dollar information technology contract, under the Transformation 21 Total Technology (T4) program.
The company filed the protest with the Government Accountability Office Aug. 2.
VA awarded T4 to 15 vendors July 1. IBM was one of several unsuccessful bidders.
The contract has a $12 billion ceiling over five years. VA plans to use it for a broad range of IT telecommunication services, including program management and strategy planning, systems and software engineering, cybersecurity, operation and maintenance and training.
An IBM spokeswoman would not comment on the protest. VA also did not have a comment.
GAO has until Nov. 10 to decide the case. A protest can delay the implementation of a contract. It is unclear whether GAO has placed a stay on the award.
