Associate Vice President and Director, Homeland Security Policy Institute, The George Washington University

An Associate Vice President at The George Washington University, Frank J. Cilluffo leads GW’s homeland security efforts on policy, research, education, and training. He directs the multi-disciplinary Homeland Security Policy Institute, a nonpartisan “think and do tank” that builds bridges between theory and practice to advance homeland security through a multi and interdisciplinary approach. Cilluffo joined GW in April 2003 from the White House where he served as Special Assistant to the President for Homeland Security. Shortly following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Cilluffo was appointed by the President to the newly created Office of Homeland Security, and served as a principal advisor to Governor Tom Ridge.
