Don Anderson, Air Mobility Command’s assistant director of analysis, joined Federal News Radio for a free online chat. Anderson discussed Air Mobility Command’s use of big data to save money and meet mission goals more effectively. He talked about how data can make Air Mobility Command more efficient in its flight operations and how data analysis is improving the experience of pilots and warfighters. Anderson says the command has already seen results from big data analysis in fuel savings of airplane flights in the Middle East.

Anderson took part in the chat after his recent appearance on Pentagon Solutions on Federal News Radio 1500 AM in the Washington DC metro area and online everywhere.

Federal News Radio’s reporter Scott Maucione moderated the chat.

Donald Anderson has served as assistant director of operations research analysis for Air Mobility Command since 2008. In the past, he has worked as a strategic airlift director and a C-130 pilot. He has a Master’s degree in International Relations from Tufts University, another Master’s in operations management from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University.
