On DoD: Cloud Computing within DISA

Three guests from the Defense Information Systems Agency talk about various aspects of cloud computing.

This week, a special edition of On DoD: three guests from the Defense Information Systems Agency join us to talk about various aspects of cloud computing.

Carey Burris, the program manager for Forge.mil will be with us to talk about that open source software development platform and some recent upgrades.

We’ll also hear from Julie Mintz, DISA’s cloud service director about the latest developments in milCloud, DISA’s private cloud offering for DoD customers.

First though – an update on cloud security. While DISA is no longer the exclusive cloud broker for the entire Defense Department, it is in charge of setting security standards for commercial cloud providers. Roger Greenwell, DISA’s cybersecurity director, brings us up to speed on DISA’s provisional authorization process for commercial cloud service providers.
