Doctors from the Tufts Medical Center are remotely treating victims of the earthquake in Haiti. Doctors and their patients have real-time, online consultations with doctors in the United States to discuss treatment. During each meeting, the doctors review the patient’s information, speak with and see the patient, then suggest follow up care. The system has been especially helpful for patients with infectious diseases and post-traumatic psychiatric conditions, because they get access to specialists.
