The future of the Bush Administration’s virtual fence project is looking dim. Federal News Radio has been telling you about the project designed to stem the flow of illegal immigration across the U.S. – Mexican border. Problems started when violent drug battles between rival Mexican drug cartels broke out along the southwestern border. And now, Arizona Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl are asking for National Guard troops be sent to the border between Arizona and Mexico. Thad Bingel, a former Chief of Staff at Customs and Border Protection, tells us about the implications for the contract if that happens.
