The U.S. and Croatia are working together to keep radioactive materials out of the hands of terrorists. The National Nuclear Regulatory Administration signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Finance of Croatia, which allows the U.S. to set up radiation detection systems at Croatia’s strategic points of entry. The U.S. will also train Croatian Customs in how to use the equipment at border crossings, airports, and seaports. It is part of NNSA’s Second Line of Defense program. Joining us to explain how it works is Tracy Mustin, the director of the Second Line of Defense Program at NNSA.
