President Obama’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence faced a tough round of questions in his first confirmation hearing. If the Senate approves, retired Air Force General James Clapper would take over the post vacated by Dennis Blair. The hearing came amidst a Washington Post investigative series looking at the extreme growth of the intelligence community since 9/11.
