Cyber anti-virus choices grow

With cyberattacks saturating the Internet, a dramatic shift is underway in the $7 billion-a-year anti-virus industry - and it\'s all good news for consumers.

You no longer have any excuse to not have anti-virus protection on your computer. USA Today reports there’s a shift underway in the $7 billion a year cybersecurity industry. Symantec, McAfee, Trend Micro and others are revving up their AV software suites, making them stronger, smarter and less demanding of your computer’s resources. The Identity Theft Resource Center says part of the reason is that many companies are offering free anti-virus protection. So, the more established companies are starting to offer stronger protection as a minimal cost.
