Former CIA Director Michael Hayden would like to see the Oval Office have the authority to shut down the Internet. The Reuters is reporting that Hayden made the comments during a visit to San Antonio where he met with military and civilian officials to discuss cybersecurity. He says that it would be wise to legislate such authority to the President to take emergency measures when necessary, but that the bar would have to be set very high for the authority to kick in.
