DHS counts increasing cybersecurity among highlights

DHS secretary Janet Napolitano included cybersecurity advancements among the department\'s 2010 accomplishments

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano highlighted the Department’s 2010 accomplishments in an address to employees. One of the biggest: to safeguard and secure cyberspace. In this past year alone:

  • DHS entered an agreement with the Defense Department to protect civilian and military computer systems
  • Napolitano launched the National Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign Challenge and the “Stop. Think. Connect.” campaign
  • DHS hosted Cyber Storm III, which tested the federal government’s cybersecurity response capabilities

And the department launched an early warning cyber security system.
