IBM tool stops cyberweakness before it’s written

IBM has a new tool to spot security vulnerabilities even while they\'re being written.

IBM is selling new tools it says will enable coders to develop more secure software. The company says it has enhanced a set of tools called Rational App-Scan. Information Week reports, the improvements let developers spot and analyze security vulnerabilities in code as they occur. It does this by a process of continuous scanning, which results in reports showing where the code weaknesses are located. A growing source of cyber security attacks is web applications, used widely by government agencies. IBM says its Rational App-Scan has been tuned to root out Web application errors.
