IBM is creating a new security division — and has just announced a deal to help make it happen.

The company is buying Q-One Labs, a security-intelligence software company based in Massachusetts, and the CEO of Q-One will lead the new security division at IBM.

There’s no word on the financial details of the deal, but IBM said its new Security Systems division will target the $94 billion market in security software and services.

Q-One is one of more than 10 strategic security deals that IBM has made in the past decade.
