For millions of people trapped in poverty throughout the world, there’s little they can do without the basics like electricity. Andrew Herscowitz has spent the past five years putting together federal, other governmental and private sector resources to bring alternating current to Sub-Saharan Africa. He is coordinator for Power Africa at the U.S. Agency for International Development as well as a finalist in this year’s Service to America Medals program.
